Stay grounded.
What does that even mean?
To me, staying grounded is about trying to stay true to I am, even when the culture is trying to define that for me. Which is pretty much all of the time for all of us.
My creative projects–including books, documentaries, a digital content platform for grieving teens, a joy workshop, and a nonprofit that empowers girls–are all about encouraging people to push back against societal expectations in order to hear their own voice. Only then can we know who we truly are and how to live our best lives.
As the great Dolly Parton put it, "Find out who you are, and do it on purpose."
